Mizuho OSI Launches New Spinal Table with Breaking Hinge Technology
February 11, 2008

Mizuho OSI today introduced the Axis Jackson™ System at their 2008 Worldwide Sales Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Featuring a proprietary hinge that is controlled by a powered hand pendant, the Axis Jackson allows the surgeon to manipulate the patient's position intraoperatively. An engineered system of synchronized, moving elements provides harmonious translation of the patient's torso during spinal flexion and extension events, thus avoiding distraction or compression of the spine. One of five modular surgical table tops that fit onto a single table base, the Axis Jackson System consists of a hinged Axis Jackson frame and a two-piece supine top.

Alison JF Martin, Strategic Business Unit Manager for Specialty Surgical Tables for Mizuho OSI states: "We believe this table system breaks new ground with it's powered hinge for control of intraoperative positioning. It is an ideal table for emerging technologies in motion preservation and dynamic stabilization and builds on the well-accepted features of the Jackson Table System which is considered the "Gold Standard for spinal surgeries today".

The Advanced Control Base of the modular table system can host other table tops in addition to the Axis Jackson for specific surgical procedures making it an efficient purchase for hospitals around the world.

The Axis Jackson System will be featured in the Mizuho OSI booth at the AAOS in San Francisco in March 2008.
