Dr. Roger Jackson (US) and Professor Alex Hadjapavlou (Greece) Present Scientific Findings From Clinical Use of Axis Jackson™ System.
May 25, 2008, Geneva, Switzerland Detailed scientific findings from clinical use of the Axis Jackson™ System, a new surgical table system with breaking hinge technology, was presented today to a large group of international orthopedic surgeons on opening day of SpineWeek in Geneva.
Roger P. Jackson, M.D. demonstrated how the Axis Jackson™ System supports the biomechanics of the spine and improves access and visualization when used in various spinal surgical procedures. Dr. Jackson's special interests lie in the treatment of scoloiosis, kyphosis, flatback deformities, spondylolisthesis and disorders of the lumbar spine.
Professor Alex Hadjapavlou, M.D., presented his findings from use of the Axis Jackson™ System in XLIF® and Trans 1 procedures. Dr. Hadjapavlou is a Professor at the University of Crete School of Health Sciences and Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology.
The Axis Jackson™ System was introduced in February 2008 by Mizuho OSI as a surgical table system with breaking hinge technology. The table uniquely synchronizes axis of rotation with the patient's biomechanical body translation during surgery. The table system supports prone, supine and lateral procedures and enhances new surgical technologies. Surgeons report that it improves their visualization and access to the surgical site.
The purpose of SpineWeek is to synchronize the annual meetings of leading scientific societies around the world concerned with disorders of the spine in one location every four years.
Mizuho OSI, a Mizuho Ikakogyo Company, globally markets state-of-the-art surgicaltable systems for spinal, joint replacement and orthopedic trauma surgery as well as tables for comprehensive imaging requirements for today's minimally invasive procedures. The company is also the largest supplier of over-bed traction systems in the U.S.
